Annika Vels is a Naturopathic Doctor registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. She is passionate about providing inclusive and trauma-informed healthcare, while empowering patients to be confident about taking charge of their own health. Balancing evidence-based medicine with a holistic approach, she enjoys working with patients on a wide range of health concerns including but not limited to fertility, prenatal care, hormonal health, sports medicine, pain management, and mental health. She uses various treatment modalities including nutrition, botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and lifestyle modification to develop an individualized health plan for each patient. She studied at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she completed her internship year at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic on the sports medicine focus shift, and at Sherbourne Health Centre serving the underprivileged and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in downtown Toronto. Previously studying at the University of Guelph, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science with a minor in psychology. Combined with her training in Reiki, she believes in the importance of integrating mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical factors into treatment. When not seeing patients, she spends her time working on her family’s horse farm or out on the trails training for her next running adventure!
