Registered Physiotherapist (PT) Growing up as a competitive figure skater, Sophie has experienced her own share of injuries, which allowed her to appreciate the importance of a good physiotherapist. This personal connection that Sophie has to rehabilitation has pushed her to becoming a physiotherapist that truly understands her patients’ injuries in order to get them back to the activities they love. Sophie graduated from the University of Toronto Masters of Physical Therapy program after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa. With the opportunities provided during her academic and professional career, Sophie has had the privilege of working with diverse patient populations in a variety of rehabilitation settings. She has invaluable experience helping patients in virtual rehabilitation, acute hospital settings (post cardiac surgery, multi-organ transplant surgery), home care, paediatric clinics, and rehabilitation centres (neurological populations) all of which she has found very rewarding.

60 Min Initial Physiotherapy Assessment

During a physio assessment, the therapist will review the intake form and collect further information by asking the client specific questions in regards to the injury. Afterwards they assess the injured area by testing mobility, strength, joints, flexibility, stability, posture, walking pattern etc. Once the examination is over, the therapist will discuss their findings, provide their clinical impression and suggest a treatment plan. There will still be plenty of time to receive a treatment on the first day!
