How did you get into Health & Wellness: Audrey grew up playing competitive ice hockey, which introduced her early on to the idea that consistent training and hard work can lead to truly meaningful results. Through sport, she also experienced firsthand the positive impact that regular physical activity can have on mental health, focus, and overall well-being. Because of this, movement became a non-negotiable part of her life—one that she’s carried with her into adulthood. When it came time to choose a career, Physical Therapy felt like a natural fit. She loves being able to help people recover from injury while also empowering them to stay active and better understand how their bodies work. What does wellness mean to Audrey: To Audrey, wellness is about caring for the mind, body, and soul. During her training, she learned about the eight dimensions of wellness—physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, intellectual, financial, and social—and she believes all of these play an important role in overall health. This holistic perspective is especially important when it comes to pain, which is often complex and multifaceted. Stress in any one of these areas—not just the physical—can amplify a person’s experience of pain. Addressing and reducing stress across these dimensions can have a meaningful and positive impact. What to expect in a treatment: An initial assessment with Audrey always begins with a detailed history—the more information, the better. You’ll discuss your current symptoms in depth, along with your medical history and current activity levels. Together, you’ll establish one to three meaningful, activity-based goals that you’ll use to track your progress over time. From there, she will complete a functional assessment and take a closer look at the specific joints or areas that are bothering you. Based on these findings, She will develop a personalized home exercise program and an ongoing treatment plan tailored to your needs. How you will feel after treatment: You’ll leave your initial assessment with a clear understanding of both the factors contributing to your pain and the plan you’ll use to address it moving forward.
