Susan has also contributed to a PBFR Prehab Knee Arthroplasty research study in collaboration with a VCH orthopaedic surgeon. Susan is a Certified Klose-trained CDT/MLD therapist specializing in lymphedema management and oncology rehabilitation. With over 3 decade of clinical experience in post-cancer care, her services include the treatment of radiation fibrosis and axillary cording, as well as manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, garment fitting and prescription, and exercise-based rehabilitation. Her treatment approach combines advanced lymphedema management techniques with compassionate patient education and long-term self-management strategies to support optimal recovery and quality of life. Susan also has expertise in women’s health, including pregnancy, postpartum recovery, menopause, and urinary incontinence. In the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries/sports injuries, Susan’s approach integrates advanced manual therapy techniques—gained through completion of the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s advanced courses—including joint mobilization, spinal manipulation, and myofascial therapy, alongside Intra-Muscular Stimulation (Gunn IMS/dry needling) for chronic pain management. Susan provides individualized care through comprehensive assessment, exercise prescription, and movement analysis, with a focus on pelvic and lower back instability, as well as PBFR-based rehabilitation for sports injuries, generalized weakness, prehabilitation, and post-surgical recovery.
