Dr. Nirruba Thayalan grew up in Scarborough with aspirations of working in healthcare to serve her community. She completed a Bachelors of Medical Sciences from the University of Western Ontario, and went on to complete her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2020. Dr. Thayalan also practices hands-on soft tissue therapy in her treatment sessions, using additional training in Active Release Techniques (ART). She has also continued her education by taking the Neurofunctional Acupuncture certification from McMaster University. This training has made her proficient in the use of electro-acupuncture and dry needling. Another special interest of Dr. Thayalan’s is working with new mothers for postpartum rehabilitation, for which she has taken additional training. In her spare time, she plays basketball and enjoys weight training.
