Pronouns: They/Them Mandalyn’s journey into acupuncture is a testament to their determination. As a single mother and a full-time student with limited finances, they discovered a welcoming community acupuncture clinic that ignited their passion for the art of acupuncture. Mandalyn truly shines in the blend of acupuncture and bodywork. They draw on their skills in these modalities, along with yoga training, to create sessions tailored to each client’s specific needs. From addressing orthopedic pain to nurturing mental health, Mandalyn employs a blend of East Asian techniques to accommodate various health patterns and patient preferences. Mandalyn is dedicated to creating a secure and empathetic environment for their patients. They place special emphasis on ensuring their patients feel safe, respected, and informed. This includes practicing clear communication, obtaining informed consent, using correct pronouns and affirmed names, and taking the time to explain treatment processes thoroughly. In Mandalyn’s own words, “My goal is to hold space for people, like a lamppost in the dark spaces of life we must navigate. Where people choose to go with the light shed on the path is their decision; I am not here to judge, only to support.” Mandalyn’s toolkit extends beyond acupuncture and includes several other techniques: Shiatsu: A Japanese massage modality that incorporates abdominal massage and specific channel pressure along qi meridians. Tuina: A Chinese massage style that engages qi channels and includes assisted stretches. Cupping: The use of suction cups to relieve tension and enhance circulation. Gua Sha: A technique that involves a gentle scraping of the skin with a smooth-edged tool to promote circulation and release stagnation. Mandalyn’s holistic and individualized approach to healing, their commitment to patient-centered care, and their diverse skill set make them an invaluable resource for those seeking complementary healthcare with a touch of personalized attention and a sprinkle of warmth. In their free time, Mandalyn enjoys listening to live music, hiking, sewing, crochet, and sketching.
