Marie is excited to join U Retreat and its team of inspirational practitioners to offer Registered Massage Therapy! She discovered massage and therapeutic touch through Yoga, when instructors would come by to gently traction legs, necks and heads during savasana. She thought the feeling was incredible and it sparked an interest! In her 20’s, she “treated” herself to her first massage, which was Thai inspired, and that session expanded her body awareness - feeling and noticing the body, its strange connections and what’s normally silent. She went on to graduating from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2019. Early in her career, she met Natale Rao, RMT and Heather Gittens, RMT, who changed her practice for the better, introducing beautiful Osteopathic ways of assessing and treating the body. She graduated from their Biodynamic Fascial Integration Program in 2024. Other mentors include Malcolm Clark here at U Retreat, Tom Myers (Anatomy Trains) and Mike Dixon, RMT. Treatment style incorporates movement and attention to breathing. Marie was trained to treat the jaw and pre-natal patients. Her favourite modality is Caniosacral Therapy.
