Liese was first drawn to the physiotherapy profession after being a patient herself of physiotherapy following two different sports injuries in her younger years. Liese saw first hand the positive benefits that physiotherapy had on her recovery process and she knows first hand what it is like to recover post surgically from an injury. Liese believes the body has the ability to heal and is honoured to help others achieve their recovery. Liese’s undergraduate degree from The University of British Columbia, Bachelor of Human Kinetics provided her with a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, sports medicine, sports training and exercise prescription. In 2007 Liese completed her second degree at UBC, Master of Physical Therapy. Additionally, Liese has completed post-graduate work in manual therapy, acupuncture, soft tissue techniques, myofascial release, movement pattern re-training, Pilates, sports-specific training, aquatic rehabilitation, postural biomechanics, core stability and balance enhancement training. Liese has experience in treating acute and chronic pain, tension, injury related to: motor vehicle accidents, work related injuries, sports injuries, pre/post operative rehabilitation, repetitive strain injuries, sprain injuries, meniscal damage, muscle imbalances, muscles tightness, muscle weakness, arthritis, sciatica, neural tension, impingement, alignment and postural issues. All treatment sessions with Liese will be in a positive and caring environment following a client centred approach while providing an individualized therapeutic session for each client. Additionally, all treatment session will be one on one for the entire treatment session.
This is an 60 minute INITIAL Physiotherapy session. Please wear clothing that allows for exposure of the injured region. Arrive at least 10 minutes early for this initial appointment. This session will include initial assessment, history taking, physical assessment and treatment.
