Dr. Kate Hawkins received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree with Clinical Honors from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Distinction) from the University of Alberta. Kate’s education further includes a diploma in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University as well as full body certification in Active Release Techniques and Graston Technique. For a description of these techniques, please visit our Services section. Kate currently works with athletes of all levels of expertise and with a wide range of family practice patients. Kate believes that conservative manual therapy is an important part of the broader healthcare system, and can be effective for most people and for a variety of conditions. Kate typically uses a range of soft tissue therapies, evidence-informed modalities, gentle mobilization and adjustment techniques, and rehab exercises to help her patients feel and function better. She has experience working with individual with physical and intellectual disabilities and underprivileged populations both locally and abroad. Please note, Kate does not include manual adjusting of the cervical spine (neck) in her chiropractic practice. Kate is also passionate about women’s health and longevity and is pleased to offer menopause education, consultation, and care planning under the Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) credential. Please note, menopause services offered under the MSCP designation are separate from Kate’s chiropractic scope of practice and consequently are not billable under chiropractic extended health benefits. Beyond her clinical work, Kate is loves spending time outdoors with her family and her dog, Tom. Kate enjoys yoga, strength training and is currently training for her first marathon!
