Allison is an Honours graduate of the Algonquin college Massage Therapy program, and also has an Honours Bachelor of Health Science degree from Carleton University. Health care and healing have always been of interest for her. Prior to becoming a massage therapist, she had been a doula and Shiatsu massage practitioner for more than 12 years, and has attended more than 100 births. Her approach to body work is coloured by her experience with Shiatsu and those techniques are integrated into many of her treatments. As a former doula and mother of 4 children herself, Allison has a deep understanding of the physical challenges of being pregnant and how childbearing and parenting may affect your body. In the last few years, Allison has shifted her own fitness focus from distance running to weightlifting and is interested in working with strength athletes of all types to try and encourage injury prevention and improve mobility.
