Kayla completed their Massage Therapy Diploma at Camosun College in Victoria. Kayla became interested in massage after working in health administration for many years, dealing with various repetitive strain injuries and general muscle tightness that led to her seeing an RMT regularly; through this, Kayla realized the value of self care, muscle strengthening, and regular body check-ins. Kayla has always had a keen interest in anatomy and thoroughly enjoys educating patients about different muscles and MSK issues. Some of their special interests include Swedish massage, deep tissue work with trigger point release, passive movement/stretching, and myofascial release. With a dedication to helping people connect with their bodies and promote self care, it is Kayla’s goal to work with folks who would like to build a better outlook on their body and personal wellness. Through tailored treatments, patient education, and prescribed homecare, Kayla aims to help their patients better understand their body mechanics, relieve pain and tension, and to overall help people develop a great relationship with their body.
During your first appointment, the hands-on portion of the massage will likely be closer to 45-50 minutes. This allows the RMT time to review your health history, assess your areas of concern, develop a treatment plan, obtain your consent, and allow time for reassessment and homecare recommendations at the end of the session.
