Kate is a graduate of the Canadian School of Osteopathy, Vancouver; her training included five years of study followed by a thesis, for which she was awarded the William Garner Sutherland D.O. Award for her clinical research on grief and depression post miscarriage. Prior to studying manual osteopathy, Kate attended the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy, graduating in 2009. She also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria. Kate enjoys working with all types of clients; she truly finds is a privilege to hear their personal stories and assist in their reconnection to health. She always aims to bring a deep sense of listening to treatments, striving to connect with the innate healing forces within each of us – body, mind, and soul. Kate uses the traditional principles of osteopathy to improve mobility and function throughout systems of the body by addressing the whole person. She offers gentle hands-on treatments, which can include fascial release, cranial sacral, visceral manipulation, joint mobilization, and muscle energy techniques in order to release any blockages that may interfere with the full expression of health. Kate continues to develop her skills by regularly attending post-graduate training courses, such as advanced cranial osteopathy methods. Outside of work Kate can be found spending time with family or in the forest – cross country skiing, mountain biking, trail running, and camping. She also loves gardening and is always keen to swap gardening secrets. Kate is a member in good standing of Osteopathy BC and the College of Massage Therapists of BC.
