Direct billing through Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, GreenShield, Empire Life, and all companies supported through Telus Health eClaims I first came across manual lymph drainage as part of my decade-long journey of trying to find a remedy for my chronic and, at times, severe eczema. After my first MLD treatment, I noticed my skin was less red and less itchy, and I felt a sense of calm in my mind and body. That experience, as well as realizing how important and underappreciated the health of our lymphatic system is, led me to pursue training with the Dr. Vodder School of MLD. As an RMT and self-proclaimed “continuing education addict,” I have always enjoyed relieving patients of their aches and pains. MLD has helped me to expand my knowledge of the body and find new and creative ways of helping my clients. Since completing my Vodder training, I have used MLD to help support people with post-surgery (cancer, orthopedic, cosmetic) swelling and pain, lymphedema, bloating/water retention, chronic sinusitis, CRPS (RSD), and acute strains/sprains. Due to my lived experience, I am particularly interested in skin health, digestion, inflammation, and nervous system support, as well as fatigue, as they are connected and benefit from both traditional and MLD massage. My approach to treatment planning is collaborative, and I am happy to use MLD, traditional massage, or both to address your complaints. I believe that the treatment begins from the moment you enter the treatment room and strive to create a calm, safe and welcoming treatment space for all. I have had a lifelong interest in health and wellness even before becoming an RMT. I spent many years teaching and competing in ballroom dance and being a personal trainer. In my spare time, I lift weights, dance, play with my dog (Bella), and continue to experience all the joys and challenges of being a father. I am happy to answer any questions you might have and look forward to working with you! As part of my ongoing education, I have completed the following courses: Dr. Vodder School of MLD: Level 1 – Basic Level 2 – Applied MLD Level 3 – Lymphedema Advanced Body (for pre/post op care) Postural Restoration Institute (PRI): Postural Respiration Myokinematic Restoration Pelvis Restoration Impingement & Instability Cervical Revolution Primary Non-Manual Techniques Workshop Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction Workshop (Simply TMJ) Barral Institute Visceral Manipulation 1 Upledger Institute Craniosacral Therapy 1 Biodynamic Myofascial Mobilization Lumbo-Pelvic Region Thorax Upper Extremity Dermoneuromodulation (DNM) Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
