Tara earned a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2009, after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia in 2005. She is certified in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation and holds a Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy. Tara has been a member of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy since 2016. In 2018, Tara completed her Level 1 Clinical Pilates certification through Calibrate Education and is currently working toward her Level 2 certification. She also serves as a Teaching Assistant for the Calibrate Level 1 Certification program, where she supports the education of clinicians in movement-based therapy and the integration of Clinical Pilates with manual therapy in rehabilitation practice. Tara’s interest in Pilates and movement-based therapy developed from her background in dance. She was a competitive dancer throughout her adolescence, which sparked her long-standing interest in movement, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. She has extensive experience treating sports- and dance-related injuries, particularly among adolescents and young athletes. Throughout her career, Tara has treated athletes across a wide range of levels, from recreational participants to elite and professional competitors. During her master’s program, she assisted in the treatment of international and NHL-level athletes. She has also been part of the medical staff for the Vancouver Stealth in the National Lacrosse League and worked with both the junior and senior teams of the Langley Thunder. In addition to sports injuries, Tara has a strong interest in treating complex pain conditions, hypermobility, pre- and post-partum patients, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Outside of her clinical practice, she maintains an active lifestyle that includes mountain biking, skiing, surfing, yoga, Pilates, dance, hiking, and weight training.
