Junkai (Kai) Yang, R.Ac. is a Registered Acupuncturist with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC). He comes from a family with a multigenerational tradition in Traditional Chinese Medicine dating back to his great-grandfather, and grew up surrounded by the philosophy and clinical practice of Chinese medicine. Kai’s approach combines the holistic perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine with an understanding of modern anatomy, physiology, and contemporary healthcare. Rather than focusing only on an isolated symptom, he takes time to understand each patient’s overall health, lifestyle, physical function, and individual presentation in order to develop a thoughtful and personalized treatment plan. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal pain, neck and back conditions, sciatica, TMJ-related discomfort, sports recovery, sleep concerns, digestive health, and women’s menstrual health. Depending on the patient’s needs, treatments may incorporate acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and cupping. Kai believes that effective care begins with careful assessment, clear communication, and helping patients better understand their own health. His goal is to provide practical, patient-centred care while offering a broader, whole-person perspective on health and recovery. He provides care in both English and Mandarin.
A comprehensive first visit including health history, Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment, individualized treatment planning, and acupuncture treatment. Electroacupuncture or cupping may be incorporated when clinically appropriate.
