NAYLA CARRUTHERS Physiotherapist M.P.T., BSc Nayla is a University of Manitoba graduate with a Master’s of Physical Therapy (2016) and a Bachelor of Science. Growing up on a farm in the Swan River Valley, she played lots of different sports including volleyball, basketball, badminton, figure skating, snowboarding and softball. Nayla is certified to practice acupuncture and has completed Level 1 and 2 (lower) of the Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy exams. In her practice, she combines manual/hands-on techniques, exercise prescription, acupuncture and education to treat her patients. She enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities with a goal-orientated approach. Nayla has taken advanced training in the area of vestibular rehabilitation. Vestibular conditions include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis. Depending on the diagnosis, vestibular rehab may consist of balance training, gaze stability training and canalith repositioning maneuvers. Nayla stays active by running, skating, weight-training and chasing her kids around!
This is a private physiotherapy initial assessment (your injury is not due to a work accident or automobile accident) and this is your 1st visit or you have been to our clinic in the past but it is a new injury or has been more than 3 months since your last visit. Your physiotherapist will assess and treat your injury with a variety of modalities that may include: manual therapy, joint manipulation, acupuncture, traction, TENS, therapeutic taping, application of heat and or ice and prescribe an exercise/rehab program specific to your needs.
