Clarissa has over 27 years of experience as an RMT, and has developed her skills through work with professional athletes, performers and those wishing to improve their physical, mental and emotional health. Clarissa provides treatments ranging from prenatal to palliative care, tailoring treatments to address one’s specific needs. She listens to her patients, and understands their treatment goals in order to create the best treatment experience for them. A 2SLGBTQ ally and a trauma-informed practitioner, Clarissa believes in getting to the root of the issue, and not just treating symptoms. Your goals are her goals. Clarissa divides her time between her thriving massage therapy practice, being a RMT OSCE examiner for CMTO board exams, and romping around High Park with her dog, Murphy.
Massage Therapy
This treatment is performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and includes assessment and a personalized massage plan tailored to your needs and goals. Designed to create an overall sense of calm, these sessions support those in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, as well as the postpartum period. Massage focuses on reducing muscle discomfort, relieving oedema and compression syndromes, easing breast congestion (provided by female therapists), and supporting digestion and comfort. Each session is adapted to your stage of pregnancy or postpartum recovery to promote relaxation, restore comfort, and enhance overall well-being.
Lymphatic Drainage
Performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), this specialized, slow-paced treatment uses precise, gentle, rhythmic techniques to stimulate lymphatic flow and support the body’s natural detoxification processes. MLD can help reduce swelling (edema), fluid retention, and chronic inflammation, while supporting tissue healing, post-surgical recovery, improved circulation, and healthy immune function. *Initial appointments are recommended for clients who are new to Manual Lymphatic Drainage, allowing for a thorough assessment and individualized treatment planning.
