Paul Cramer is a Registered Massage Therapist, Functional Movement Therapist and Educator who brings over 20 years of training and experience working with clients of all ages. He is passionate about the relationship between health, fitness, and wellness and empowering clients. He has developed and utilizes a modality called Functional Movement Massage(FMM) in his practice. This is a holistic approach that fuses massage therapy with improving functional movement, alignment, and posture awareness to treat and resolve both acute injuries as well as complex and chronic conditions. The focus is to address any obstacles that are preventing the body from moving freely and easily without pain. Paul specializes in mobility and joint health issues with a particular interest in shoulder conditions that stems from his direct experience recovering from a torn rotator cuff and surgery. His goal is for clients to come away with a positive and lasting experience of their own movement ability. His favorite saying for clients is: When we move well ~ we feel well! Through Functional Movement Massage, he’s had the privilege of helping countless individuals regain their vitality, find relief from chronic pain, and rediscover the joy of fluid, pain-free movement.
Functional Movement Massage (FMM) Imagine having a massage, getting stretched, and having a personal movement coach helping you all at the same time. Thats what Functional Movement Massage is. FMM is different from other massages in that you will be actively guided through movements and stretches while also working on myofascial adhesions and trigger points. This is a case where one size does not fit all. Stretches and mobilizations are unique to your situation and done within your comfortable range of motion, allowing your body to “learn and adapt” to the easier mobility. Sometimes our bodies need a little help remembering what it felt like to move well. Sessions take place on a wide floor mat, with the recipient wearing loose comfortable clothing which provides a versatile environment for therapy. FMM can be an effective primary treatment approach for musculoskeletal concerns but is also a useful complementary modality with other health care professionals such as physiotherapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, osteopathy and personal trainers. One of the key elements of FMM is helping clients gain a renewed confidence in their movement capabilities leading to significant improvements for both health and wellbeing. IMMT is effective for acute or chronic injuries, joint pain/mobility improvements, back pain, neck and shoulder pain, sports injuries, pre/post-surgical rehabilitation, headaches, repetitive strain injuries (RSI), chronic pain conditions, pre/post natal related, general discomfort, aging related issues, and/or starting new activities.
