Born in Invermere, B.C., Shuna has had the unique experience of living on both coasts of Canada before settling in Victoria. Growing up in a family that loved to travel and explore, Shuna developed an early appreciation for diverse environments and cultures, which has enriched her approach to massage therapy. Shuna’s innate understanding of the human body led her to pursue her passion at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, where she graduated in 2005. Her career as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) has been shaped not only by her professional training but also by her personal journey with chronic pain. This experience has fueled her interest in pain research, particularly its neurobiological aspects, and has given her a dual perspective as both a long-term patient and a healthcare professional. Focusing in chronic pain and complex illness management, Shuna is dedicated to helping her patients improve their quality of life. She believes in the profound impact that a combination of lived experience and specialized knowledge can have on managing health. Shuna utilizes a trauma-informed approach in her practice, welcoming patients dealing with the aftermath of motor vehicle accidents, high anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions. As a mother of two, Shuna is particularly attuned to the needs of children and adolescents. She recognizes that pain, anxiety, and stress are often overlooked in younger populations and is passionate about ensuring that all her patients, regardless of age, are heard and their health goals addressed. Shuna is excited to join the team at Right Fit Clinic and looks forward to partnering with her patients on their journey to achieving their health and wellness goals.
