Madison graduated from Algonquin College’s Massage Therapy Intensive program and continues to develop her assessment and treatment skill for a variety of different conditions. Madison has gained hands-on experience at a number of massage clinics in Ottawa, at the Riverside Hospital and at Carleton University, working with athletes, as well as volunteering at Ottawa Race weekend and at Ottawa University Athletics. Madison grew up in Ottawa where she spent her time training as a competitive dancer. She understands the dedication and commitment it takes to be a part of a competitive sport. With that training, came injuries and subsequent rehabilitation to regain her strength and coordination after being off. This is one of the reasons she became a massage therapist, to have the ability to try and help individuals reach their goal, whether it be returning to their sport or active lifestyle after an injury or improving quality of life with a chronic condition. Madison has a passion for learning which drives her to attend a number of professional development courses annually, such as NeuroKinetic Therapy and Sports Massage. This allows her to expand her knowledge base and apply her newfound knowledge and skills to her clients. Madison believes the more tools and resources there are for her clients, the more effective she can be. Madison is a strong believer in an integrated team environment and works closely with the professionals at Continuum Fitness to help provide the best care for her clients. Madison takes an assessment-based approach to her treatment. She uses postural assessment, range of motion and manual muscle testing to find compensations and movement patterns within her clients. This allows her to help create a treatment plan unique to each individual. Madison treats a variety of injuries and conditions in people with limited flexibility to those who are hypermobile, helping each person improve mobility and stability.
