Born and raised in the Hamilton area, I completed my undergraduate degree at McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science. My studies focused on Biology as a major and Medical Anthropology as a minor, the combination of which ignited my interested in alternative medicine. My passion for natural therapies, holistic medicine, and most importantly health, made naturopathic medicine an instinctive fit for me. I went on to complete 4 years of postgraduate medical studies at the accredited Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, graduating as a Naturopathic Doctor in 2011. During this time I discovered my passion for clinical nutrition, and continued on to complete my Masters in Human Health and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph. Recently in 2015 Naturopathic doctors have gained access to prescription rights for a list of medications in Ontario, and I have completed required training and examination to access these privileges. I am currently a board certified Naturopathic Doctor, registered with both the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). I work to integrate research-based natural medical knowledge with mainstream medicine to provide the most comprehensive care possible. This is achieved through the use of clinical nutritional therapies, acupuncture and Asian medicine, botanical medicine, lifestyle counselling and homeopathy. I welcome patients at any stage in their journey toward well-being and have special interest in women's health, fertility, digestive concerns and chronic disease.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an excellent treatment options for fertility, anxiety, stress management, sleep difficulties and anything related to PAIN. At Hamilton Health & Wellness Naturopathic doctors can provide acupuncture through Naturopathic licence. Naturopath
Initial assessment is for new patients or existing patients who have not been to the clinic for more than two years. It provides an overview of your health concerns and initial treatment plan to help resolve issues using Naturopathic Medicine. Any relevant testing recommended can be discussed in this visit as well.
