Heidi Breiter, ND has a passion for helping those who may have received a medical diagnosis, might not feel well, and want to get answers to understand the root cause in order to heal themselves. Her interests are general concerns, mental health including anxiety and mood regulation and stress reduction, weight management, gastrointestinal concerns, bloating and unexplained fatigue, immune support, and helping alleviate symptoms. She understands that digestion is a foundational step to any health transformation. Further, it is important to establish the root cause so that symptoms are mitigated, not masked. Her mission is to heal the whole person through individualized treatment. She believes we can cooperate with the healing power of nature, working with the self-healing systems of the body to “set the stage” for healing. Her inspiration for naturopathic medicine stems from the belief that humans have an innate self-healing capacity that responds to efforts to support it. Nature provides us with the means to do so. She combines current scientific research, evidence, and centuries of healing wisdom. Areas of focus include: · Digestive health including: bloating, IBS, gastroesophageal reflux or heartburn · Food sensitivities and allergies · Insulin resistance and diabetes · Chronic illness and preventative medicine · Premenstrual syndrome · Memory and cognitive function Therapies are provided under the supervision of a ND include: Botanical medicine Acupuncture including cosmetic and traditional Chinese medicine Clinical nutrition, including dietary changes and nutritional supplements Hydrotherapy Physical medicine including Laser therapy Homeopathic remedies Lifestyle counselling Heidi is known to educate often through difficult health challenges. She studied Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. While she was there, she preceptored with over 15 Naturopathic Doctors since she is interested in different perspectives to health care. Directly prior, she obtained her Bachelor of Sciences, Honours, from the University of Toronto, in human biology, physiology. Her love of languages including French and German inspired her to travel and train extensively, in private clinics in Switzerland and Germany and continues to update her training. She is registered and in good standing with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Medicine, the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
