Spotswood Trail Massage

620 Neff Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA, 22801

Hi, I am Kathy Volrath (or some of you may know me as Kathyann). I was born and raised in Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay. I was in corporate America for many years. I worked as an executive assistant at the DoD, in medical offices, hospital, real estate offices and financial/economic consulting firms. I also worked as a veterinary technician and on an alpaca farm. I realized that sitting behind a desk was not for me. I went to massage school and eventually owned a Wellness Center in Maryland. I moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2015. I enjoy harmonizing standard Western medicine care with complementary therapies to help people improve their health and to stay healthy. For over 15 years, I have been able to help my clients by using various massage techniques. I incorporate everything from a relaxing Swedish massage to more specific therapeutic massages (such as frozen shoulder, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, carpal tunnel and headaches, to name just a few). I am trained in various massage techniques including craniosacral, Swedish, myofascial, deep tissue, trigger point, neuromuscular therapy, sports, active isolated stretching, cupping, Thai, cancer/mastectomy, fibromyalgia, manual lymphatic, pregnancy, integrative reflexology, aromatherapy and noninvasive bodywork techniques…plus more. Oh, and if you have any animals that have underwent a recent orthopedic surgery, are used for trail rides, are involved in agility, or may not be as agile, have arthritis, or are just a bit cantankerous, I can help them, too. I love family, friends, nature, the Chesapeake Bay, reading, learning and traveling. Let’s walk the trail of good health together ! Book your appointment now to begin your journey. Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Massage (60 minutes)
New PatientGeneral

Manual lymphatic massage gently flushes the lymphatic system, especially after the removal of lymph nodes. Even when only one lymph node is removed, the lymphatic system doesn’t work as efficiently and becomes sluggish. This technique uses slow movements and only the pressure of a dime. Massage cupping is also used to encourage the lymph flow. A lymphatic stone massage uses hot gemstones and castor oil. This type of massage is deeper than the manual lymphatic massage.
