Hi, I’m Martina! I’m an Australian-trained Physiotherapist and Certified Clinical Pilates Instructor. I’m presently a Physiotherapy Resident in Canada as I wait to complete the clinical competency exam in June 2026. As a child, I loved cross-country running, but gymnastics was my true obsession. I spent every chance I got doing cartwheels, and pushing my splits during commercial breaks. Unsurprisingly, I eventually developed chronic back pain. At the time, I didn’t understand how to manage this pain or continue with my sport, so I decided to replace it with weightlifting. Fast forward to adulthood, who would have thought that my own injury would fuel a career in helping others manage their pain? I moved to Australia, where I completed a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Bond University, graduating in 2021. I kicked off my physio career in a clinic that specializes in using Pilates as a tool for rehabilitation. Through this experience, I developed a strong appreciation for the benefits of movement-based therapy and left with a deepened understanding of human kinetics. From my own experience, I became passionate about helping people connect better with their bodies, recover from injury, and build strength and confidence to do the things they want to do! I take pride in creating personalized treatment plans that empower my patients to reach their goals—whether returning to sport, daily activities, or simply moving without pain. Outside of the clinic, you can catch me running Saturday morning Park Runs in Guelph (pun intended because I’m not the fastest), playing tennis, or making a mess in the kitchen while I attempt my Nonna’s Italian cooking. My motto is, ‘Health and fitness have always been a passion of mine; my goal is to make it yours.’
This treatment session option is booked when there are multiple regions or complexities in the plan of care. More time is allotted to be able to provide quality treatment, exercise prescription and ongoing education to ensure rehabilitation goals are being met in their entirety.
