A registered massage therapist, Melanie is a graduate of the International Academy of Massage who also holds a BFA from Concordia University. She has been in practice since 2002. Melanie was originally drawn to the field by a lifelong interest in anatomy, physiology, wellness, and the mystery of health and the body’s ability to heal. She has continued this pursuit of knowledge with education in acupressure, myofascial release, and cranial sacral therapy. She is also certified in reflexology and as an infant massage instructor. Melanie’s philosophy is to learn from – and provide knowledge for – every client. She works with people who are at a range of stages of life, including rehabilitation, sports training, aging, illness, stress, pregnancy, and beyond. She also treats people with chronic and degenerative conditions and those looking to maintain and improve their health. To stay healthy herself, Melanie likes to work physical activity like cycling, walking and gardening into her day. She also enjoys a variety of fitness classes, including yoga.

The initial assessment will consist of a detailed history taking and physical examination, followed by massage therapy incorporating soft-tissue therapy, joint mobilizations, cupping and exercise prescription.
