Uma Acharekar is a highly skilled Registered Physiotherapist with 15 years of experience in Hospital and Community Healthcare. Uma completed her Bacehlor’s Degree in Physiotherapy in 2006 and later successfully completed her Master’s Degree in Neurorehabilitation with a State University Merit Rank. She has a keen interest in evidence based research and has a Publication in a Physioherapy journal by her name. Severeal years of experince over her long career have merged o create her special interest in treating conditions such as soft tissue sprains and injuries, trauma, neck and back pain, frozen shoulder, tendinitis, work related injuries, joint pain, arthritis, post joint replacement cases, hand injuries and neurological conditions such as concussion, stroke and vertigo. Uma’s passion for Pain Management and Rehabilitation has fuelled her pursuit of continuing education. She has completed many certifications such as dry needling/IMS, concussion management, vestibular rehabilitation, mat pilates, theraband academy training and kinesiotaping. Uma believes in in-depth assessment and goal setting to impart an optimum care to her clients. Her focus is to provide holistic care through use of pain management techniques, manual therapy, customized exercise prescriptions, and elaborate home exercise programs to ensure long term health and prevent recurrences. Uma strongly believes in ability to stay physically active which is so critical in the prevention and management of many illnesses and is herself a fitness enthusiast. In her free time, she loves going for hikes, biking, kayaking, and enjoys playing badminton and tennis.

Initial Physiotherapy Assessment -45 Minutes

Therapist will complete a full assessment exam with history and provide treatment. Treatment may include one or more of the following: Decompression, Shockwave Therapy, Dry needling, Concussion Therapy and/or Mat Pilates.
