Born and raised in Maple Ridge, Josh spent most of his childhood playing hockey and Team BC baseball. In high school, he started going to the gym and that’s ultimately where he first learned to love kinesiology and anatomy. After receiving physical therapy to rehab various sports injuries, Josh became fascinated with the human body and was inspired to become a Registered Massage Therapist. Josh completed his diploma at The West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2021, became a RMT in 2022, and has been absolutely loving what he does ever since! Josh takes an active and holistic approach to healing, focusing on the intricate relationship between the body’s physical structures and the nervous system. Josh utilizes innovative treatment modalities like **Proprioceptive - Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR), NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS)** to help clients achieve lasting relief from pain, injury, and mobility issues. These modalities treat symptoms by addressing the root causes of dysfunction to ensure comprehensive and sustainable recovery.
This treatment mainly utilizes the modality of Proprioceptive-Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR), but can also include the modalities of NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS). After a thorough history intake, movement assessments and gentle muscle tests will be used to locate inhibition within the nervous system. Once dysfunctions have been located, specific neurological stimuli will be put into the body's proprioceptors and a reflex will be elicited to calm the nervous system, restoring function and eliminating pain. Corrective exercises and myofascial release techniques may be used to further reduce tension and pain.
