Dr. Reuven is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Registered Acupuncturist with over 20 years of clinical and teaching experience. He works with people experiencing chronic stress, overwhelm, and persistent or recurring symptoms, particularly when sleep, pain, digestion, mood, and energy seem interconnected. Some patients arrive with a clear diagnosis. Others feel exhausted but unable to settle, find that symptoms keep returning or shifting, or simply know that something feels off without understanding why. Dr. Reuven takes time to explore these connections and understand how they’re affecting the person’s life. His approach draws on Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and an understanding of how stress and nervous system responses can influence health. Treatment is gentle and individualized, with attention to both immediate relief and longer-term well-being. Working with Dr. Reuven may be a good fit if you’re experiencing: - Chronic stress, overwhelm, or difficulty switching off - Sleep disturbances, insomnia, or feeling “wired and tired” - Fatigue, exhaustion, or burnout - Persistent or recurring pain and tension - Digestive concerns, especially when they fluctuate with stress - Anxiety, low mood, or feeling disconnected and out of sorts - Several ongoing symptoms that seem interconnected Alongside acupuncture, Dr. Reuven offers practical lifestyle guidance and simple self-care strategies. He works collaboratively with patients who want to understand their health more clearly and develop skills they can use between appointments. His goal is to help people feel more settled, comfortable, and resilient, with greater capacity to participate in their own care. **Clinical approach** Dr. Reuven’s clinical approach draws on extensive postgraduate training in advanced pulse diagnosis, Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture, channel-based acupuncture, and channel palpation. He brings these skills into practice through: - Attention to emotional and psychological well-being: Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture considers the person’s individual patterns and emotional life alongside their physical symptoms. - Careful, individualized assessment: Advanced pulse diagnosis helps Dr. Reuven build a fuller understanding of the patient’s symptoms and overall health, guiding his treatment choices. - Channel-based acupuncture: Dr. Reuven examines the acupuncture channels to help guide treatment. He often uses points away from the symptomatic area, such as points on the hands or feet when treating pain elsewhere. - Treatment of acute and persistent pain: His experience includes both pain in a specific area and concerns involving several parts of the body. Experience and teaching Dr. Reuven was a founding faculty member at Pacific Rim College, where he trained and mentored many practitioners now working in the field. He has also taught numerous postgraduate courses and workshops in nervous system regulation, pain treatment, pulse diagnosis, and Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture.
