I am a Registered Physiotherapist with several years of experience. I graduated in 2011 and have worked in acute care settings/hospitals and out-patient settings over the years. I enjoy treating people of all ages I use a combination of techniques rich in manual therapy including symptom modification, trigger point release, shockwave therapy, Vestibular therapy as well as client education and individualized exercise program to achieve their goals. I firmly believe in treating not only patient symptoms but also the source of pain to ensure long term relief for my patients. I have been fortunate to work with a wide variety of patients over the years. My interest in women pelvic floor physiotherapy started after taking courses and realizing how impactful this type of treatment can be for so many women. I love that pelvic floor physiotherapy provides a safe space for women to address their concerns and can often greatly improve their quality of life. I have found that incorporating pelvic floor treatment into my practice has enhanced my general physiotherapy skills and treat people even more holistically! I am extremely enthusiastic about sharing my passion for health and wellness with all my patients and love to help people reach their health goals. In my free time I love to spend time with my family and to explore beautiful nature. I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey of doing what you love and reaching your functional goals. Specialized Physiotherapy is becoming more established in the literature as the first line of defence against Incontinence and Pelvic Pain. Pelvic Floor Dysfunction can be caused by: •HYPOTONICITY: contributing to stress incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse •HYPERTONICITY: contributing to Urgency, Urge Incontinence, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Dyspareunia, Vaginismus, Vulvodynia, Pudendal Neuralgia, Interstitial Cystitis and Chronic Prostatitis. Kegels are NOT always indicated for pelvic floor problems. Sometimes they do more harm than good, and often they are NOT performed correctly. The Cochrane Collaboration 2010 concluded that Physiotherapists with specialized training in pelvic floor rehabilitation (using internal examination to teach the exercises) should be the first line of defence, before surgical consultation, for stress, urge and mixed incontinence in women.
