All muscles have memory. When I learned this at The Swedish College of Health Sciences studying massage therapy in 2001, I couldn't quite grasp this concept. I mean, how can muscle have memory without having a brain? Well, after massaging a variety of thousands of clients from ballerinas, field hockey players to post-operative tummy tuck moms to football players...I now KNOW muscles have memory. I can feel the muscles slacking back to normal after working on it or the tension gradually release. YES, our muscles have... memory. Just like the concept of the body healing itself when given the right tools, the muscles can also heal itself through consistent professional massage therapy. I am known as Dr. Terri and humble accept that title. Being a massage therapist has given me the opportunity to assist people to live more comfortable lives. That is whyI went to massage school after 9/11 incidents in NYC. Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge that day...not being able to get in contact with my mom or my then 7 year old son.... I knew I had to make a change in my life.Life is so fragile and clearly can be gone in a minute. I had been thinking about massage school for years and after that experience, it was time for me to be on the other end and help people to walk better, think better and just...feel better. After 16 years, I acquired several modalities from hot stone massage, manual lymphatic drainage to peri/post-natal massage and even infant massage technique instruction classes. BUT my goal is to offer you time...60 minutes or 90 minutes...you tell and show my your areas of discomfort and your desired outcome of the massage and I'll formulate at massage catered just for you and just for that day. Because your next massage....in two weeks or one month...it may be different. It's all based on your feelings for that day...and that time. So...let us begin. Let us heal.Heal ourselves. Heal our families and thus forth heal our communities. With one massage at a time.
