If you’ve ever heard of the word “Fascia” (like the connective tissue in the body), replace the “F” with a “B”, and you’ve learned how to say Basia’s name! Among being a multi-hula hooping professional circus artist, a yogi, and an insatiably curious spirit - Basia is an RMT, who’s unique style of practice is influenced by her massage education under orthopaedic surgeon and massage therapist, Dr. Lanre Salami, as well as the whole-istic perspective of the Western-Eastern Integrated massage program she graduated from by the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Calgary in 2019. Skilled history taking, systematic orthopaedic assessment, and precise application of technique provides the foundation for Basia’s treatment protocol - when integrated with techniques for systemic relaxation, the nervous system is primed for receptivity, bringing forth lasting and tangible results for her clients. Stand alone or in conjunction with more traditional hand-to-skin massage, Basia offers table-top Fascial Stretching as a modality to address concerns with mobility, posture, and joint pain. Applied with intention, this modality is appropriate for a wide range of populations and applications - from optimizing sports performance to easing the effects of aging. Basia understands that for her clientele in the Bow Valley, functional organic movement is a medium for joy in this life, and is committed to helping you experience its greatest potential!
