Alicia graduated from Algonquin College’s Massage Therapy program in 2018 after completing the Fitness and Health Promotion program in 2015. She is proficient in Swedish, myofascial and deep tissue techniques. She was drawn to massage therapy because of her passion for health and helping others improve their day to day lives. Through rehabbing an injury she learned the importance of mobility and massage and is eager to supplement her knowledge with cupping, Graston, and hot stone massage. In her down time she enjoys knitting, strength training, running, and Spartan races.
Therapeutic massage is treatment that is more focused on dealing with a specific issue or injury. The pressure and technique will vary depending on the individual, but the goal is resolution of the issue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff neck, back and shoulders, TMJ, Sciatica, Tendonitis, and other overuse injuries. The treatment can be uncomfortable, so communicate with your therapist during the treatment and to report any lasting discomfort post-treatment. For treatments longer than 60 min, please call 613-830-1380 to book.
