Unstoppable Sports Recovery

I love competition. I enjoyed playing volleyball in high school and wish I had known more about self-care and how my body recovers back then. I studied at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, graduating in 2006. I specialize in sports and orthopedic massage and bodywork. I enjoy slowly working through the various layers of muscle to relax and reset the body. I combine techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, sports massage, stretching, cupping and some relaxing Swedish massage techniques to help the body to relax. I love learning new things and I know that I can always study more. In my 16+ years of working as a massage therapist, I have worked with many different types of clients ranging from athletes training for various sporting events, soon to be mothers and even those who have been involved in car accidents and need injury recovery work. I do use stricter draping or work with athletic clothing in sessions to maintain professional boundaries.
I use a variety of massage techniques (deep tissue, stretching, trigger point, Swedish) to help your body feel more mobile and stable. It is usually more focus work. Generally, 30 and 60 minutes are good for 1-2 treatment areas. 90 and 120 minutes are better for 2-4 treatment areas or a more overall full body massage. I will be incorporating cupping, heat, ice, kinesiology taping and stretching into sessions on an as needed basis for all clients.
