With over 23 years of experience in physiotherapy, Akash brings a wealth of clinical expertise, leadership, and a genuine passion for helping people move better, feel stronger, and regain their quality of life. Akash graduated from Sardar Bhagwan Singh University in India in 2003, beginning a career in physiotherapy that would eventually span more than two decades and two countries. After immigrating to Canada in 2011, he began working as a Physiotherapist Assistant while completing the requirements to continue his profession in Canada. Through dedication and perseverance, Akash became a fully licensed physiotherapist in 2014. Driven by a vision to create welcoming, patient-focused rehabilitation clinics within the Calgary community, Akash took the next step in his career and became a clinic owner in 2021. He successfully opened Forest Lane Physiotherapy & Massage in Southeast Calgary and Jacksonport Sports Physiotherapy & Massage in Northeast Calgary. Under Akash’s leadership, both clinics have grown into thriving multidisciplinary practices built around compassionate care, strong clinical standards, and a commitment to helping every patient achieve meaningful and lasting results. As both an experienced clinician and mentor, Akash takes pride in supporting his team, sharing his knowledge, and creating an environment where practitioners and patients alike can feel supported. Akash has extensive experience assessing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions, including neck and back pain, sports injuries, workplace injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, and acute and chronic pain conditions. His areas of expertise include Dry Needling/IMS, Manual Therapy, TMJ Treatment, Spinal Manipulation, Taping, Vestibular Rehabilitation, and Concussion Management. His approach combines hands-on treatment, therapeutic exercise, education, and individualized rehabilitation programs to address the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction—not simply the symptoms. With more than two decades of clinical experience, Akash remains dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-informed care tailored to each patient’s condition, lifestyle, and individual recovery goals. His goal is to help patients restore movement, build confidence, and return to the activities that are important to them. Outside of physiotherapy, Akash is a devoted husband and father of two, an uncle, friend, and mentor to many. He enjoys playing and following cricket, reading, and exploring Calgary’s food scene. As a self-proclaimed YYC foodie, Akash is always happy to share his recommendations for hidden gems and great places to eat around the city. Akash is fluent in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, allowing him to connect with and provide care to patients from a wide range of backgrounds.
