Ehlana's path into acupuncture began with a devotion to her yoga practice. Ehlana holds 500 hours of yoga teacher training with advanced study, and teaches classes, workshops, events, and 1:1 Movement Medicine sessions on Salt Spring Island. While offering private yoga sessions in Calgary, AB, she sought to expand what she could offer her students. A lasting fascination with the body and its workings, combined with an intrigue for the nature-based philosophy of Chinese Medicine, led her to study acupuncture. She started her studies at CITCM in Calgary in 2017 and completed her Diploma of Acupuncture at Pacific Rim College in 2023, where she was a teaching assistant in Orthopaedic Acupuncture and Qi Gong. She has since practiced at Hemma Community Acupuncture, the first community acupuncture centre in Victoria, BC, as well as U Retreat Spa and Wellness. Before starting her practice on Salt Spring Island, where she now lives, she spent three months offering treatments at a rural clinic in Nepal. She believes healing is a collaborative process and enjoys helping people reconnect with their bodies through compassionate, individualized care. Her treatments are hands-on and unhurried, drawing on a holistic and interconnected approach to diagnosis, Qi Gong bodywork, and Somatic Inquiry, with client education at the heart of her approach. Ehlana works with people experiencing anxiety and burnout, chronic pain, menstrual cycle concerns, and the changes of perimenopause and menopause. She is also trained in Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture and offers what she calls “Aging Gracefully” treatments. Whether you're seeking relief from pain or support through a life transition, Ehlana offers compassionate, individualized care that meets you where you are. She looks forward to supporting your health and wellness journey at Active Balance!
Massage
Cupping and Tui Na massage are traditional Chinese medicine therapies used to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension, and promote healing. Cupping uses gentle suction created by specialized cups to increase circulation, ease tight muscles, and support the body's natural recovery process. Tui Na is a therapeutic Chinese massage that uses targeted hands on techniques to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore balance.
