Dr. Stephanie Berzon (she/her) is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She is passionate about helping people feel more relaxed, safe and tender in their bodies by reducing pain and inflammation, harmonizing the nervous system and restoring healthy lymph and blood flow. She holds a Master’s and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine with advanced training in tuina bodywork, women’s health and herbal medicine. Her clinical experience includes working in a pain clinic providing acute and chronic pain relief, and in rehabilitation centers where she enjoyed treating patients in addiction and mental health recovery. Got pain? Got stress? You’re in exactly the right place! Chinese medicine is very effective in reducing symptoms of nearly any sort of disharmony and discomfort in the body. Stephanie treats everything, and is especially excited to address emotional and anxiety-related conditions, sports injuries or neck and back pain (“tech neck” from daily office posture), GI disorders and digestive disharmonies, reproductive health and hormonal imbalances, fertility, addiction recovery and sleep disturbances. Each acupuncture treatment almost always incorporates some form of bodywork including tuina body massage, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha or a mix; whatever the body is calling for! The first treatment will focus more strongly on Stephanie getting to know you and thoroughly understanding your concerns. All following treatments will be less talk and more table time. Treatments can be as gentle as teishin and minimal needlework or offer a bigger Qi feeling through the use of electroacupuncture. Your limits; your call! Stephanie is an enthusiast for patient advocacy and education. She can also provide take-home Qigong exercise recommendations by request. She offers referrals when care exceeds her scope of work or to offer a co-treatment plan for best results. Stephanie fell in love with this medicine because acupuncture helped her to physically move and release emotional trauma stuck inside the body in complement with talk therapy. This experience propelled her curiosity to study the medicine and her desire to share it with others. She is grateful to provide her community an evidence-and-science-based approach to Eastern medicine and a gentle, trauma-informed touch. She feels a deep respect for the roots of this medicine and is honored to carry forward a healing tradition developed over thousands of years. On her time off she enjoys being slow and unstructured in nature, long dinners with friends, attending movie screenings and supporting the arts through writing and community organizing.
