Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic

595 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 0C4

Kheya completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). During her undergraduate degree, she spent her summers conducting research with the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery and the BC Injury and Prevention Unit, both at BC Children’s Hospital. After graduating, she worked for two years as a Kinesiologist at a private physiotherapy clinic in Ladner, BC. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for physiotherapy and decided to pursue it further. She returned to UBC to complete her Master of Physical Therapy, during which she completed her Level 1 training in Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) Physiotherapy. Her years of clinical experience and research have prepared her to work with a broad range of clients. She’s committed to continually challenging herself and expanding her skills as she grow in this field. Her sister was her biggest inspiration for choosing a career in healthcare. Growing up, she underwent 14 brain surgeries and required extensive rehabilitation after one surgery that left her in a coma and paralyzed on half of her body. Watching the incredible impact her medical and rehab teams had on her life made Kheya certain that she wanted to work in healthcare, although she wasn’t quite sure in what capacity. While working as a Kinesiologist, Kheya realized that physiotherapy is the perfect blend of everything she cares about. She loves building long-term connections with patients, supporting them through the entire course of their rehabilitation, and witnessing the power of movement firsthand. Having grown-up playing competitive soccer, volleyball, and dealing with her own injuries, physiotherapy has allowed her to combine my passion for rehabilitation with her love of physical activity. Kheya chose Treloar because of the incredible team and their commitment to ongoing mentorship and education. she was first introduced to the clinic as a patient, before starting her physiotherapy career, and it was immediately clear how passionate and dedicated the team is. She feels grateful to work in a clinic that prioritizes education, client-centred care, and creating a supportive (and fun) environment. Kheya’s passionate about spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, and staying active! She enjoys going to the gym, running, cycling, and playing soccer and volleyball. She spend as much time as she can in the mountains- hiking or backpacking in the summer and skiing in the winter!
