Kate is the founder and CEO of Performance and Recovery Labs, with over 25 years of experience in clinical massage therapy. Her journey into this field began with a strong foundation in medicine—she pursued a degree in the field as an undergraduate and spent more than nine years working in hospitals and medical practices. However, after much reflection, Kate chose a different path and received her certifications in massage and neuromuscular therapy. Kate’s massage career began in Boston where she learned so much about working with pro athletes and the joy of working with people of all walks of life, stages of training and levels of fitness. She later moved to Austin, where she founded the successful practice, Austin Bodyworker. In the seven years she was there, she built the practice into a thriving clinical massage hub, staffed with like-minded therapists who were passionate about treating clients and educating them on how massage and bodywork could enhance their training and overall wellness. In 2014, Kate and her daughter moved to Colorado, where she opened Boulder Bodyworker. As a recovering triathlete who now enjoys strength training and dabbling in the three disciplines (but not all at once!), Kate brings a unique understanding of the balance between training, life, and the mindset of athletes pursuing their event and life goals simultaneously. In January 2021, Kate and her husband Mark took a huge leap and opened Performance & Recovery Labs in central Boulder. The vision was to create a holistic, integrated sports medicine clinic focused on sports performance and athletic recovery.
60 minute massage sessions are great for really getting in there and focusing on that tension that you always hold *there* and allowing your therapist time for full-body massage that doesn't need a lot of focused work.
