Robert (he/him) is a licensed acupuncturist registered with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice since 2015, and holds a board certification in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine with the NCBAHM (National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine). He received his formal training at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN, as well as Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu, China. Robert practices as a general practitioner, with a special focus on sports medicine and acute pain, as well as orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical conditions. Robert has had extensive experience working in a variety of clinical settings, ranging from a multidisciplinary private wellness practice, to a combination health/fitness center treating sports injuries, to acupuncture departments within major hospital systems in both the United States and China. With over a decade practicing at these hospital-based clinics, he has had the privilege of working with patients from diverse backgrounds at all stages of their healing journeys, and learned how to collaborate closely with healthcare providers of all types to be a part of a patient’s trusted care team. In his practice, Robert works in collaboration with his patients to help foster improved health, function, and overall wellbeing. He strives to meet the specific personal goals of each of his patients, prioritizing measurable improvements in each person’s quality of life, whether that is helping a marathon runner recover before the next race or supporting an avid knitter through an arthritis flare. In his focus on acute injury and orthopedics, Robert utilizes specific acupuncture techniques to achieve an identifiable physical response during each treatment. Beyond the clinic, Robert likes to spend his time with his husband and two kids, exploring the numerous scenic spots surrounding the Twin Cities. He has an ever-growing collection of tropical plants at his house in south Minneapolis, and recently took up pottery, throwing misshapen bowls and mugs in his basement.
