Tom is currently a chiropractic intern completing his Preceptorship under the supervision of Dr. Abe Avender. Tom likes to take a multimodal approach to his treatment to ensure the best possible outcome for his patients. Tom is in this field due to his passion for helping people feel like the best version of themselves, whether it is through the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, improving performance, or even just staying active! Tom integrates manual therapy into his approach through soft tissue methods and adjustments as main treatment approaches. Outside of the clinic, Tom loves the outdoors and exploring new areas that he hasn’t seen before! He enjoys soccer, hockey, volleyball, and skiing, he is sure to add as much physical activity into his week as he can. He is also a life-long soccer fan and tries to play recreational soccer locally here in Nanaimo as well. Tom grew up in Ontario but came to Nanaimo to attend Vancouver Island University, where he completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology before he left to Oregon for his chiropractic schooling at the University of Western states.
