Valerie is currently accepting ICBC patients. Valerie is a graduate of the West College of Massage Therapy, her past studies include a Biology BSc from UVic and a Diploma of Acupuncture from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Valerie is not a practicing acupuncturist; however, she enjoys utilizing her studies of multiple modalities to create a holistic and well-rounded approach to treatment. Valerie uses a variety of treatment methods with an overall focus on helping to calm the nervous system and decrease tension. She has particular interest in working with athletes as well as with chronic pain. She often looks for ways to help patients improve tissue mobility by using techniques learned from evidence-based research. Valerie likes to help patients achieve their health goals by focusing on relaxing the nervous system, improving mobility, and guiding patients in taking an active role in strengthening and self-care. When she is not working, Valerie can be found hiking, traveling, or playing D&D. She competes in Highland Throwing / Heavy Games events throughout BC. She is an avid reader and enjoys weight lifting and trail running.
