PLEASE NOTE: Yan is on leave currently, returning late spring 2026 Yanzhi Xu (Yan) is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner & Acupuncturist (R.TCMP & R.Ac) in Canada, as well as a TCM doctor in China, where she practiced for five years. Yan brings a wealth of experience in applying the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to help both adults and children. Yan graduated with distinction from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, specializing in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. During her final year of the Bachelor Program, Yan was honored as “The Best Intern of Year” while interning at a leading hospital in Nanjing, China. Since then, Yan has dedicated her TCM practice to assisting individuals with a range of issues, including: Fertility (All Genders, Fertility Boosting, Egg & Sperm Quality) Gynecology & Hormone Issues (PCOS, Dysmenorrhea, Endometriosis, PMS) Pain Control (Low back, Shoulder, Headache, Knee, etc.) General Wellness, Insomnia, Eczema, Digestive Issues (IBS & Bowel concerns) Tuina & Massage for Children and Youth (Eczema, Sleep, Digestion) Yan’s treatment modalities include Acupuncture, Cupping, Herbal Medicine/Formulas, as well as TCM Tuina & Massage for children. Yan feels that becoming a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist was her destiny. She was born into a family of doctors – both Western medicine doctors and Chinese medicine practitioners. Her great-grandfather, Yuren Jiang, was a renowned pediatrician in China, credited with writing the first pediatric textbook for a TCM University. Yan’s mother is a PhD in Chinese medicine with over 25 years of expertise in ECG monitoring at a leading hospital. Yan’s lifelong fascination with TCM led her to enroll and graduate from the oldest and one of the most esteemed TCM universities in Nanjing, China. After gaining valuable outpatient experience in China, Yan brought her passion for TCM there to Canada. Yan believes in the innate harmony between the human body and nature, a fundamental principle of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has used Acupuncture, Cupping, Tuina and Massage - natural remedies with no side effects on the body – to help numerous individuals with fertility issues, pain management, depression/anxiety, insomnia, digestion problems, eczema, and pediatric health concerns.
This acupuncture treatment is for those seeking support before and after IVF fertility retrieval and transfer procedures. This treatment is only for those who are currently in their IVF cycle. Weekly preconception acupuncture is beneficial - if you are 3 or less months away from your IVF cycle and want preconception care, please book an initial acupuncture or Initial naturopathic session. Both Yanzhi and Grace, our Registered Acupuncturists, and Dr. Alexa, our Naturopathic Doctor, provide this treatment. The billing for this service will be processed through your coverage based on the provider you receive the treatment from. Dr. Alexa's billing falls under the Naturopathic discipline, and Yanzhi and Grace fall under the Acupuncturist discipline.
