When you come in for an initial acupuncture consultation it will include a full treatment. A treatment can include a combination of modalities including acupuncture, electric stimulation, moxibustion, essential oils, cupping, gua sha, and massage. We begin by discussing your main complaint(s) along with your health history. Acupuncture is holistic medicine. Some questions that could be asked may not seem directly related with your main complaint. Please do not take this as an intrusion as TCM patterns are all encompassing and take the whole body into account. A look at your tongue and feeling your radial pulse can be requested as a diagnostic tool. Table time varies depending on the treatment protocol, but expect to be on the table anywhere from 30-50 minutes.
