Great Lakes Chiropractic

I was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. I grew up playing a variety of different sports, mainly hockey, and still remain very active. I have always been interested in the human body; how it’s structured, and how the systems cooperate and allow us to navigate daily life. Also, what happens when this harmony is disturbed and how manual therapy can help restore health. I am a University of Windsor Graduate with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. I graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy with a Masters Diploma in Osteopathic Manipulative Science. I have continued my education to pursue fields of treatment including treating visceral organs as well as treating women throughout all stages of pregnancy.

Initial Osteopathic Assessment

Initial Assessments are scheduled for first-time patients; or patients who are returning after 2+ years without Osteopathic treatment from myself. Osteopathy is a holistic form of manual therapy aimed at improving heath across all body systems. The Initial treatment involves a fully comprehensive assessment of the entire body and all of its tissue layers (fascial; muscular; connective; bone/joint). Treatment is gentle and non-invasive. In an effort to restore proper alignment and balance, it is applied where asymmetries and immobility within your framework would indicate obstruction(s) to tissue health. Along with musculoskeletal alignment, Osteopathy promotes physiological health by liberating the lines of communication within the body: blood flow; nerve signalling; lymphatic flow; hormone regulation. These pathways are what allow the body to self-heal and self regulate. Increased time is taken in the Initial Assessment to get to know the patient; conduct a detailed health history; gain an understanding of patient's symptoms. Once treatment is concluded, Osteopathic findings will be summarized and explained to the patient. Together, the patient and practitioner will discuss the most effective strategy, including frequency, for ongoing treatment.
