Elaine has been in the medical field for over 25 years practising as a cytotechnologist in the medical laboratory. Her interest in Eastern medicine started in 2016 with her search for a more holistic approach to healthcare – one that encompasses treating the physical as well as the emotional aspects of illness. Acupuncture addresses the immediate and the underlying issues that often lead to pain and illness. Elaine uses a combination of motor points and Traditional Chinese Medicine method points that help guide the body back to homeostasis and harmony. As a mother of two grown daughters, Elaine’s nurturing nature provides a safe and warm environment. She’s able to treat acute and chronic conditions including sciatica, back/shoulder/neck pain, women’s health, digestive issues, stress and anxiety relief. Elaine often incorporates acupuncture, cupping and gua sha into her treatments. She has also completed the Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture course led by Michelle Gellis and has taken a number of James Spears courses that focus on the fascia lines of the body. When not in clinic, Elaine enjoys hiking, gardening and reading. She is a lifelong learner and has taken a number of introductory classes including archery, bookbinding, glassblowing and karate. Her latest curiosity is flamenco dance.
