Massage

Aromatherapy massage combines massage techniques with the therapeutic properties of essential oils, hailing from the techniques developed by Margarite Maury and Madame Micheline Arcier. The focus is on the lymphatic and nervous systems, including the full body and head. With a large portion dedicated to the pressure points along the spine, aroma massage has a strong effect on the nervous system, inducing deep relaxation. Some of the benefits include: improvement in circulation, reducing fluid retention, encouraging sinus drainage, reducing tension and inflammation, and overall rebalancing of energy flow throughout the body. During an aromatherapy massage, you both inhale the essential oils and absorb them through your skin. Essential oil blends are chosen specifically for each individual, based on initial consultation. What will be taken into consideration: - Chemical properties of each oil & their scientifically demonstrated effects on the body - Emotional effects of essential oils through their interaction with our olfactory and limbic systems - Subtle properties (plant energetics) - Any contraindications (ex. based on pregnancy, medications, medical conditions)
