Wellness in Motion Boston
Gerald Samson: I am a dedicated part-time yoga teacher and experienced massage therapist. I taught full time for five years at Coolidge Yoga before deciding to put my full effort into massage therapy and treating sports injuries. I developed my massage practice at coolidge and out of my home in Boston. I graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2011 with a B.A in both in Psychology and Philosophy, and rowed as a student athlete. I found the practice of yoga after graduating college and it happened to be beneficial for reducing my work stress and the tightness my body had developed from rowing. Wanting to share yoga’s benefits I enrolled in a 200-hour teacher-training program with Ame Wren and the Boston Yoga School in 2014. Through yoga I began to see the body as a puzzle to unravel, which led to a strong interest in bodywork. This led to my enrolled at The Massage School in Boston in 2015. With the influence of yoga in my bodywork, I work deep into the structure of the body, both to adjust structure and treat injuries that restrict mobility. In school I became skilled in a number of techniques like deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release and some elements of eastern bodywork (Shiatsu, Thai massage) and blend all of them into my work. I graduated from The Massage School in February of 2017 with over 200 hours of clinical practice, and have been working as a LMT since graduation.
