Dr. Derek Mak is a licensed chiropractor committed to delivering comprehensive, patient centred care. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, following a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph. He is also certified to provide acupuncture within the chiropractic scope of practice, allowing him to incorporate a broader range of evidence-based therapies into his treatment plans. Dr. Derek works with a diverse population of patients, including athletes, manual laborers, and office workers. He is passionate not only about treating injuries but also about identifying the underlying mechanical and lifestyle factors that contribute to them. His clinical approach emphasizes long-term function, injury prevention, and patient education. He utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques, including soft tissue therapy, joint mobilization and chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, and rehabilitative exercises to help patients restore movement, reduce pain, and optimize performance. Outside of practice, Dr. Derek enjoys staying active through sports, particularly basketball and volleyball, cooking and unwinding with video games.
