Amata is a Certified Athletic Therapist. She attended the University of Regina where she obtained her Bachelor of Kinesiology - Honours Human Kinetics degree. During this time she worked as a student trainer with the Men’s Volleyball Team. This experience lead her to the University of Manitoba where she completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology - Athletic Therapy degree. During her time there she worked with the Bison’s Track & Field Team and the Women’s Volleyball Team. Amata holds an additional certification in Soft Tissue Release - Level 1. Outside of Athletic Therapy, Amata is still active playing softball during the spring/summer and volleyball during the fall/winter. She is also an assistant coach with the Ottawa Fusion Volleyball Club.
