Totum

Yuma completed his double bachelor Osteopathy degree at RMIT University in his home city of Melbourne, Australia. Whilst completing his education he began a mentorship program gaining valuable experience working in a busy multi-disciplinary Osteopathy/Pilates based clinic in his hometown. This sparked his further interest in rehab in the sports setting, in particular working with Australian football, lacrosse, tennis athletes whilst playing himself. After a few years, Yuma sought a different kind of challenge, seeking international exposure bringing him to Toronto in 2019. Osteopathy being a very young profession and somewhat unfamiliar to many people here in Ontario compared to Australia has naturally enhanced his passion to show and teach his clients the potential benefits of osteopathy for their overall health. Treatment / management approach: Yuma utilizes a structural form of osteopathy/manual treatment utilizing a range of techniques including joint articulation, muscle energy, soft tissue massage and dry needling to treat a range of different ailments Further interest in the field of exercise rehab then provides him with the knowledge to apply at-home management strategies to ensure the client is able to sustain an improvement in symptoms outside the treatment room. Particular treatment specialties/interests: Headaches and vestibular disorders, neck and shoulder complaints, lower extremity injuries including sports and exercise induced issues stemming from training load errors and poor biomechanics. Sporting background/other interests: Australian Football (currently playing here in Ontario), running, swimming, snowboarding, camping and travelling the world.
